Peace Resolved

by John Adair

There are two words that are everywhere these days, Resolve (Resolute, Resolution) and Peace.

During the month of January many resolutions are made. People will be setting goals and

dreaming dreams. This is wonderful when it comes from a foundation of peace.

We resolve to set out on a mission to fulfill a plan, something happens and we often lose hope

and fall into self condemnation.

Jesus said "Peace, give I unto you, not as the world gives..." John 14:27

He gives peace, NOT AS THE WORLD GIVES.

When we see two people, countries or whatever, negotiate peace, it is ALWAYS predicated on

each keeping their end of the bargain. This is how we think. That if we are to have peace then

everyone must do their part.

This thinking is carried into our relationship with Jesus, but He already told us, the peace

(comfort and ever assurance) is not as the world gives.

Jesus will forever keep His word, regardless of you maintaining your end. Jesus is faithful, even

when we are unfaithful. His Peace guarantees that He will not be at odds with us, against us or

ever surrender the desire and ability to be our Savior before God, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!

You never have to allow this thought of doubt drive you again. Jesus proclaimed peace for us

and the Father loves us, because we love Jesus, Glory!

So as you set your goals this year and make your plans, add one more to your list. That you will

resolve in your heart that Jesus' words are true, He is faithful when you're not and the relationship

you have with Him is according to His sacrifice and not your ability to maintain a list of do's and

don'ts.

I remember a time of paying off my first car. Every month making a payment, when the day

came that I received the pink slip and the contract was completed. I now owned the car.

I could have kept making payments if I wanted I suppose, I don’t think the bank would have

received them, surely would have thought I was a little off, but no matter how much more I was

willing to pay, the point is, the car is already paid for. It was not possible for me to own anymore

of the car than I did at that moment. It was paid for and I owned it.

It's similar to what Christ has done for us. He paid the price for our Salvation. Our deliverance

and eternal life is bought and paid for. Jesus now owns our pink slips, ha!

Only unbelief, lies and perverted teaching of the gospel will keep you from rejoicing in this

great and wonderful news.

Now you may say, "But I did this or I did that." Jesus is a greater Savior than you are a sinner.

His grace is abounds above your sin and His accomplishment is greater than your failure, so

rejoice and resolve to believe in Him with your whole heart.

God loves you, Jesus will never leave you and His Gospel gives you eternal life and the power

to live life. So live it without condemnation, fear and finite limits. You are released in Jesus

Name to be all He has called you to be, now receive it.

Pray this aloud to Jesus,

Jesus, I believe you died for the sins of all and I receive your forgiveness. I want to follow you and ask to be filled with your Holy Spirit right now. I welcome the Holy Spirit and will trust Him to lead, guide, teach and direct me in service to Jesus Christ.

Now thank Him for the gift of the Holy Spirit. You can learn more about the baptism of the Holy Spirit Click Here
