Defining Opportunity
Webster's Dictionary defines opportunity as "a combination of circumstances favorable for the purpose."
Some believe in coincidence while others believe in divine encounters. So we can think of things as happenstance or actual divine appointments arranged by the Lord.
I tend to believe in God's intervention of every circumstance and situation, while He may not be the Author of a particular circumstance a person may find themselves encountering, He is always willing to intervene.
Timing of Opportunity
We can be the instrument God chooses to use in the intervention of a situation someone might be facing.
Throughout our day we may encounter someone with a need, desire or curiosity of spiritual concepts. As we do, we can believe the possibility exists that this opportunity could be one of those divine encounters the Lord has arranged for us.
As situations present themselves throughout our day, God ordains our steps as His Ambassadors to intervene on behalf of the person and situation we have encountered.
Regardless of the situation being presented, we can be confident that God has a purpose for our awareness of the situation and delights to release His goodness with blessing into the situation.
It is during these times we can take the person's focus off the appearance of the situation and direct them toward the willingness of God to intervene.
There is a number of different ways the Holy Spirit may have you to do this, but there is not a particular formula. Every situation and circumstance is unique to the people involved.
We can always ask the person to join us as we pray for them and the situation. We might also remind them that God has His blessing of love prepared regardless of the situation and ask them if they are open to invite Him into this situation.
It is not required that we have the remedy or fix for every situation that we encounter, only that we are willing to lead a person to the One that has the resources and answers for their circumstance.
Timing of Opportunity is generally designed through the circumstance itself, however there are other opportunities we can create with just the planting of a seed.
