Introducing someone to Jesus is one of the easiest and most enjoyable things you can ever do as a believer. There are different situations and many circumstances that present opportunity to lead someone to Jesus. The Campaign tools are designed to prod people into asking you; "Do I know what?" Whether it is a circumstance or someone that is curious about the "Do You Know?" slogan, leading them to Jesus, the source of our supply, is the greatest thing we can do for someone. So how do we do that? How do we actually lead someone to the Lord? We lead someone to the Lord by leading them in prayer, often called the "sinners prayer." When a person, through circumstance or the "Do You Know?" question, is seeking spiritual answers, this is our cue. When someone notices the "Do You Know?" slogan and asks you, "Do I Know What?" it's time to blurt out the all important question. "Do you know, if you died today would you go to heaven?" Their answer is going to fall into one of three categories. 1) I think I am going to heaven! When a person answers like this, ask them what makes them think they're going to heaven. Any answer apart from saying that Jesus died for their sin and is their Savior, indicates that they need to be introduced to the laws of God, just like we have explained in previous Sessions. 2) I'm not sure. When a person is not sure, then we can ask them, "If it was possible to know for sure, where they would spend eternity after death, would they like to know?" Then we ask them if they believe that Jesus Christ died for them on the cross , then rose from the dead and is alive today. If their answer is yes, ask them to join you in prayer as you pray, offering them to take hold of your hands as you pray together. 3) No I am not going to heaven. Then you must ask if they would like to go to heaven when they die. If they answer yes then you would ask them also if they believe in Jesus Christ, just as you would have in the previous example. If they answer "No I am not going to heaven and I don't care about it" or that "there really is no life after this one." Just ask them if you could pray for them. Then right there, begin to pray blessings of grace and mercy to touch their heart. Ask them once again if they would like to accept Jesus. If they still refuse or show no interest, then move on as the Lord leads you. There is no formula to a prayer, but there are some basic concepts a person is usually confronted with before coming to the Lord for salvation. 1) Their immortality. 2) That they are guilty of breaking the commandments of God. 3) That they have need of a Savior. 4) That Jesus is the Risen Lord and Savior. 5) That they are wanting and willing to accept Jesus Christ. All of these concepts are identified through the sinners prayer. PRAYER Jesus, I have sinned. I am sorry. I need a Savior. I believe you died for my sin and rose from the dead. Forgive me for my sin, come into my heart right now, that I might know you. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen. It really is this simple. The more you apply what you have learned here today, the more people you will discover the Lord drawing to you for their introduction to Him. Once you are convinced of the power of God moving through you, the time will come that you will begin to teach others just what you have learned. |
