| Pepsi Challenge - This has always been fun. On the weekends, many families attend various outings.
From soccer games to concerts, local carnivals and parties. We use these events as an opportunity to witness the free gift of Jesus Christ.
What we have done in the past is to fill a 55 gallon trash can with cans of soda, covered in ice. We carry that bucket throughout the park giving away free can’s of soda with a tract titled “The Free Gift.”
Of course the tract talks about the simplicity of receiving Jesus Christ, just as easy as it was to receive the free soda can.
It’s that simple, we hand out soda and the tracts go with them.
You should be mindful of the event you choose, if you attend an event where they are SELLING soda, they are not going to take kindly to you undermining their business.
So just be mindful of that. Otherwise, there is no resistance to you giving something away for free. Go for it and have fun.
Car Wash - Much like the Pepsi Challenge this also is a free give-away. We set up a spot where traffic can easily access us with their vehicles.
Then with a group of volunteers we wash cars for several hours at no cost to the patron. No donations, no obligation and no requirements.
Just a simple outreach to reach out to our local community.
It boggles the mind, that often they will engage in conversation just to try and find the “Catch.” Everyone wants to know the “Catch.”
The catch is them, ha!
Cafe Clubs - This takes a little more planning and commitment. Instead of having a bible study or meeting during the week, we offer a Café.
Tables are set up in a Café style, gourmet coffee is supplied with various snack foods and a live band. The band plays an assortment of music and during the band breaks, we preach the good news for 10 - 15 minutes. An invitation to accept Christ is given and the evening continues.
The Café opens around 7 in the evening and goes for around 3 hours. This can be done virtually on any day of the week or weekend.
There is no admission charge and a donation is taken for the coffee and snacks, but not required. We want to reach everyone, even those that can’t give.
This makes for a great alternative to other type of clubbing and a night out. Many believers rally around this to bring other friends and family to a non-threatening, safe environment.
You should commit to a certain length of time, meeting the same time for at least 3 months. This offers a chance for the word to get around and for people to have a chance to respond.
